Australian Height Datum (AHD) Surveys

AHD stands for the Australian Height Datum, which is the height of a point above mean sea level.

The Australian Height Datum is the standardised reference datum for heights and elevation measurements across Australia. As such, most councils require surveys to be carried out on AHD, which usually determines the minimum finished floor level a new building must be constructed to. It’s also required for new dwellings to determine the height of land relative to the sewerage connection. Only Licensed Surveyors can perform AHD Surveys.
